A redhead's oxymoronic journey into technology (through the innocently jaded eyes of Dana Coffey)

Who is Dana Coffey

I'm Dana and you may notice that no, I am not a blonde.  I began www.aspforblondes.com quite some time ago when ASP was in its infancy and I was actually developing ASP sites on a Windows 98 machine.  The site began as a place to share general web development resources and to market myself a bit.

I've been a web application developer for about 12 years.  I'm a past recipient of the Microsoft MVP award for ASP.NET, and I'm one of the founding members of the ASPInsiders.   Currently, my primary development platform is ASP.NET 2.0, SQL Server and Visual Studio 2008.  My skillset however is quite a bit more broad.  In my past roles at an ISP, an Engineering Firm, an Interactive Marketing Firm, and a Major Home Builder, I've had to utilize a myriad of technologies to develop solutions for my employers and clients.  I still maintain several classic ASP websites, and I also develop desktop solutions when appropriate.

My latest interests are social marketing/networking and open source development.  Ubuntu's latest Hardy Heron and Mono are special interests of mine.

My site's new incarnation is my desire to hop on the latest ways we get information from the web.  I still develop more than fulltime, and a lot of my blogging will be ASP.NET related.  Be prepared also however, for some general web related goodies that I've been discovering and logging!

And feel free to use the links to facebook, myspace and twitter so we can stay connected!
